        Hen Feathers Quilt Shop

        Winter 2018 Class Offerings

Beginner Demo Class: 2nd and 4th Tuesday | 10:15 a.m. or 6:00 p.m. for 8 sessions. Classes will begin January 9. It will meet twice a month for 8 times. $20 class fee includes all block kits and patterns.

This class is for those quilters who consider themselves a beginner. We will work on a sampler quilt one simple block at a time. We will start with a very easy block and progress each class to blocks that are a little harder. There will be tips and techniques all along the way. Your class fee will cover the block kits and patterns and you will have 3 color choices, shown here. This is a great opportunity to learn proper quilting techniques at a reasonable cost.

Chenille Quilt: Saturday, January 13, 10:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with lunch break | $35 + supplies

Learn how to make a Chenille quilt, wallhanging or rug. This is a great technique to use for an entire piece or just to accent a project. It is easy and it is fun.The best part: no quilting is required. We have lots of panels to select from.


Hand Embroidery: Saturday, January 20, 10:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. | $20 class fee

We’ve had a lot of requests from people wanting to improve their hand embroidery skills. I asked our in house embroidery guru, Joni, to help us out and she gladly agreed to teach an embroidery workshop.


Fusible Applique: Saturday, January 20, 1:15 to 4:15 p.m. | $25 + supplies

This is a technique every quilter should know. We will applique a design onto a tea towel. There is no class preparation and you should leave with a finished project, not to mention a new talent.


Cog Wheels - an updated Dresden Plate: Saturday, February 10, 10:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with a break for lunch. | $35+ supplies

What is more versatile than a Dresden plate design and lots more fun to do? Cog wheels! Join Pat Hancock to learn this new design technique.


Floral Stars: Saturday, February 17, 10:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with a lunch break. | $35 + supplies.

Take one layer cake and a little background fabric and you will be amazed how fast you can turn it into a beautiful quilt. This is a fun one, so sign up now!


Carryall Bag: Saturday, March 10, 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. | $35 + supplies

Make this tote in your choice of sizes and fabrics and before you know it you will have a versatile, useful and beautiful carryall.

Payment of class fee is required to reserve your spot in class. Shop credit is issued for cancellation at least 7 days prior to class. There is no refund of any kind for cancellation with less than 7 days notice. Fabric and supplies must be from Hen Feathers and each student must have their own supplies.
